To do this, you have to keep an eye on your finances and TV ratings. You have to try to take your federation to the top of the wrestling world (or keep them there, depending on what promotion you chose to run). You have complete control in EWR, and it’s down to you who to push, who to sign, and who to fire. Seeing how the game is played on a PC, it would have been a nice touch to add your own MP3s or WAV music files into the game, but alas, it’s not to be. None of these apply to EWR, as there is no sound in the game. Apart from that though, there are no pictures to be found in the game due to copyright issues. The loading screens are filled with scantily clad women, wearing outfits so revealing they’d make Kelly Brook faint.
The layout of the menus takes the format of a red, white and blue colour scheme, which never causes any problems due to the fact that text clearly stands out from the background. So is this game all it was built up to be?īecause of the “Spreadsheet” type layout to the game, EWR’s graphics are not it’s big selling point. However, most Wrestling Promoter Sims can be found for free online, as charging a price for the game would mean that real names and federations would have to be removed, seeing as how THQ have an exclusive licence to make WWE games. It was almost a certainty that it would be an improvement from EWD, the previous game in the series, but would it be able to topple Promotion Wars from the top of the Wrestling Promoter Simulator genre? This kind of game has been described as wrestling’s answers to Championship Manager, the popular Football Management game for the PC. Before it’s release in June 2002, there were phenomenal expectations about this game. Extreme Warfare Revenge is the latest in the line of EW games, created by Adam Ryland.
